ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Congratulations to our newest PhD's:
- Dr. Michael Terilli successfully defended his dissertation "Shedding light on
emergent magnetic phenomena in the pyrochlore iridates" written under the
direction of Professor Jak Chakhalian, on June 3, 2026.
- Dr. Ian Pang successfully defended his dissertation "Generative Models As
Versatile Tools For LHC Physics" written under the direction of Professor David
Shih, on June 4, 2026.

Andreas Gleis, Center for Materials Theory (CMT) postdoc, has been awarded the
2026 Nevill F. Mott Prize of the International Conference on Strongly
Correlated Electron Systems 2026 (SCES 2026). The Mott prize is awarded to a
person who has made outstanding contributions to the theory of strongly
correlated electron systems, and who is active in research for no more than 8
years after the PhD. In recognition of this honor, the organizing committee
invites the recipient to attend the award ceremony during the opening session
and to deliver a Prize lecture during the conference that will be held later
this fall in Toyama, Japan.
